William Hempstead deeds, 1801-1817, undated.

Photocopies of deeds of sale of land in Groton to and from William Hempstead including deeds on properties and buildings from Daniel Deshon (1801) and mortgage deed to Deshon; mortgage deed (1815) to Enoch Burrows, Stonington, for 1 year on farm in Groton; deed to wife Lydia Hempstead for $400.00 for land originally owned by her father which was sold by William Hempstead to Enoch Burrows (and wife Lydia Burrows); mortgage deed (1814) to Enoch Burrows of $1700 for farm in Groton bought of Daniel Deshon; quit claim deed (1814) from Burrows to Hempstead which was sold to Capt. George Haley, Stonington, who later brought petition of foreclosure; and subsequent legal agreements between Hempstead and Haley relating to the property which was later reassigned (1817) to Cyrus Swan.
